Things to create a DSLR video setup sufficent for indy movie making

Something I'd like to do some day is to make an indy film.  Nothing amazing, or long... but worthy of a small festival or two.

DSLR -- Current thought: Canon 7d, especially once the Magic Lantern firmware catches up. ($1500)

Lenses -- Super fast is better, going to want to open it waaay up for DOF effect. Also, look @ older MF lenses. ($100-$1000+)

Mic -- Rode SVM ($200 -ish)

Pre-amp/AGC defeat:  Unsure of necessity, but suspect will be required.  Juciedlink seems to be industry std. ($140 + $190)

Follow focus -- http://www.dfocussystem.com/ looks good and cheap ($150-ish)

External Monitor -- Canon Utility + netbook ($200 for netbook)

Slider track -- DIY http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=145701 ($170)

CF cards -- 16GB is the good pricepoint right now ($40 each -- need 2-3)

Steady-cam -- http://littlegreatideas.com/steadycam/ ($40)

Tripod + 2way pan-head -- http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/484802-REG/Kowa_VM607_Videomate_607_Tri... ($100)

Relectors -- DIY, poster board bitches

Slate -- DIY, dry erase board.

Neutral density fader -- ?? research ~$70

Shoulder Rig -- ?? Needed?  http://www.halfinchrails.com/

Matte Box -- DIY solution of some sort?
Rails -- Uncertian of the need for this...
